I graduated from Atwater High School in 1991 and in 1997 I graduated from Humbolt State University with honors, Cum Laude, earning a Bachelor's Degree in English Single Subject Teacher Prep. In 1998, I earned my Single Subject Teaching Credential from Chapman University and I also began my teaching career at Independence High School here in Merced. I taught there for ten years and in 2008 I became a cougar and started teaching English here at Golden Valley High School where I have taught REACH, English 2, 3, Strategic English, and English 4.
I met my husband in 1991 and we were married in 1995. We have two daughters, Alyssa, age seventeen and Sabrina, age fifteen. We have three cats, Smitten, Baby, and Lily a Labrador, Hershey Coco. I also have some chickens I love to spend time with in my garden.
Some of my favorite things to do include spending time with my family, gardening, and cooking. As an English teacher it would be nice to say that I spend a lot of time reading outside of the classroom; however, life's demands call me away much too often from a good read. Chocolate is my favorite food, I'm terrible at remembering names, and I love to be out in nature.
